NO ONE Should Be For Sale

Little Child has recently posted three essays about the new movie “Sound of Freedom “ (which depicts the rescue of two children caught up in human sex trafficking) and the liberal hysteria that followed its release. Before I saw the the movie I wasn’t sure that I could sit through it because of its painful subject matter, but, in fact, the movie was quite watchable and is the equal of any good adventure thriller.
Now, having watched the movie, and having been moved by it, I was astonished to see the savage criticism directed at it by the liberal media. ALL of the liberal media! I literally could not believe this!
CNN accused the movie of creating a “moral panic,” but, considering the suffering and abuse child trafficking victims go through, I would HOPE that it WOULD, in fact, create “moral panic.” Is CNN OKAY with human sex trafficking? Does CNN think of this as nothing more than some kind of extension of LGBTQ+ rights? Do they feel that pederasts are simply one more beleaguered group of the glorious “rainbow coalition?” Let’s hope not.
Critics, including CNN’s Mike Rothschild, have claimed that the prevalence of trafficking as suggested by the movie is exaggerated. However, Forbes magazine (NOT a conspiracy theorist!) has estimated the “trafficking industry” takes in 150 BILLION dollars per year. With this in mind, the movie’s estimates don’t seem exaggerated at all. But, even if the real numbers are, say, only half as high as stated in the movie, or a third, or a quarter, isn’t that STILL an abomination? Isn’t that STILL unacceptable? Indeed it is.
Some critics seem to suggest that the trafficking exposé is some kind of “fantasy,” or, as Rolling Stone Magazine amazingly put it, made up for, and I quote, “Dads with Brainworms!” Yes, you read that right: “Dads with Brainworms.” (What in the world has HAPPENED to contemporary journalism???). But, the signs of trafficking are around us, if we look. Some years ago, while traveling by airplane, I noticed in the bathroom a poster telling children how to alert flight attendants that they were not traveling with their own parent. And a quick look via the internet shows that there are MANY organizations dedicated only to the identification and rescue of trafficking victims. These include:

among many others. Sex trafficking, unfortunately is NOT a fantasy. It is VERY real.
I can only surmise that liberals have taken a stand against this movie because it exposes the consequences of an open border. Such concerns, as you’ll know, are verboten in today’s “woke” media.
Trafficking is a world wide crime that is aimed primarily at the poor and defenseless. Not all of it is in the sex trade (although the majority certainly is), but ANY type of slavery is a knife in the soul of a free human being, just as it was a hundred years ago or a thousand. We MUST work to eradicate it. It is, simply, not acceptable. And, it remains unacceptable, despite the fact that idiot activists so desperately want an open border that they’ll camouflage and hide it.
So, what can we say about the liberals and progressives that are trying to sink this important movie? It’s clear that we can say they’ve sunk to new unbelievable, and, even, unimaginable lows. How many vulnerable children need to be abused and their lives destroyed or cut short before the situation is deemed worthy of “moral panic?” Do we really want to live in a country that allows this to go on? It’s high time that we ignore the heartless deceivers in the media and focus, instead, on the plight of mankind’s most vulnerable.

No one, in fact, should be for sale.
