Justice?

Dear readers, some of you may have been following the E. Jean Carroll defamation civil suit against President Trump. The recent verdict came as no surprise. With the presiding judge, Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton Appointee, the verdict was a foregone conclusion: GUILTY. And, that verdict was foregone despite the fact that the only “evidence” provided by the plaintiff was that she told two other women about it, supposedly, at the time. (Isn’t that type of evidence supposed to be considered HEARSAY?). The amount of the award, however, surprised even the most jaded observers … 83.3 MILLION dollars. You read that right: EIGHTY THREE POINT THREE MILLION DOLLARS! And, “damages” were never proven, let alone 83.3 million of them. The “Honorable” Judge Kaplan blocked the jury from hearing the following interview with Ms. Carroll with none other than Anderson Cooper. I strongly recommend that you view a short portion of the interview:

I’ve heard this video described as “cringe worthy,” and, indeed, it is. Not only does the video document Ms. Carroll’s shaky state of mind, it is also notable how Mr. Cooper trys to handle the situation. Evidently, Mr. Cooper is so flummoxed by the overly candid Ms. Carroll, that he immediately tried to cut her off. (To no avail, however, as it was a live broadcast!). Now, when a true journalist uncovers a telling comment from an interviewee, should that journalist try to self censor? I don’t think so! Cooper is not, of course, a “true” journalist, although he pretends to be one. He is, rather, an ideologue, plain and simple. And, I’d wager that, had the jury seen the above interview, they would realize that Ms. Carroll (who, by the way, has accused 6 other men of rape in print, also without evidence) is “not playing with a full deck” and would no longer find for the plaintiff.

By blocking revenant and pertinent testimony, Kaplan has, in essence, deprived Mr. Trump of due process. And, any fair minded reader would be forced to ask: was this court proceeding fair and equitable? Was THIS justice?
