Fanning The Flames Of Racism?
The latest absurdity spouted from the bridge of the sinking Democrat 2020 ship is the claim that the Baltimore, Portland, Minneapolis, and Kenosha riots are the fault of… you guessed it!… President Trump! That’s right! If you weren’t aware of Mr. Trump’s participation in the riots… well NOW YOU ARE! Mr. Trump, it seems, “fans the flames” of racial hatred (though no one has cited actual quotes from Mr. Trump to that effect).
One can easily put this claim to the lie by a simple bit of remembrance. Although awareness of history is roundly disparaged by Democrats and leftists, just a little bit of history will be quite instructive here.
If, as claimed, that it’s President Trump’s rhetoric that causes the riots we’ve seen for MORE THAN THREE MONTHS, we should test this idea with some history. And, we don’t even have to look back far at all! Going back just 5 or 6 years we find ourselves in the Obama Presidency. All Democrats, of course, as well as most media commentators and the majority of “ivory tower” academicians, laud Mr. Obama as an example of an “enlightened leader.” One that was elected to “heal our nation.” One that campaigned as a “uniter.” One that said that he would work for ALL Americans, etc., etc. With this in mind, we wouldn’t expect “divisive” rhetoric to come forth from the lips of this “enlightened” leader. As such, we would predict that NO riots would occur during his administration. No “fanning,” no riots. Enlightened leadership equals a calm an peaceful populace. But let’s see if these predictions hold true. Let’s think back….
Oh, oh. Wait a minute! I seem to remember some riots! Putting on my thinking cap, it’s coming back to me now!
What about… Ferguson, Missouri?… Gee… in 2014 I seem to remember LOTS of rioting in Ferguson! I seem to remember that, following the death of a drug addled paranoid schizophrenic that heard voices and REACHED INTO A PATROL CAR to get an officer’s service weapon, large portions of Ferguson were looted and burned to the ground! On President Obama’s watch! No involvement of Donald Trump what-so-ever!
Hmm… let me think back some more… Oh, oh. I seem to remember that in July, 2013, violent riots and looting broke out in Los Angeles, Oakland, St. Louis, and other cities, following the shooting of Trayvon Martin by Florida civilian Block Watch volunteer George Zimmerman who had been thrown to the ground and suffered multiple blows to the head at the hands of young Martin. (Zimmerman, by the way, was acquitted of ALL charges by a biracial grand jury). But, again, this seems to have, inexplicably, occurred on Mr. Obama’s watch. Mr. Trump was not involved here either.
Hmm…. I seem to remember another series of riots in April of 2015 in Baltimore, after a knife wielding Freddie Gray resisted arrest and sustained a fatal spinal cord injury in a scuffle with police. But, wait a minute, these riots took place again, during the Obama Presidency! And, Mr. Trump and his “rhetoric” don’t seem to be involved in any way!
Hmm… Another memory seems to come to mind… In December, 2014, a violent riot broke out following the death of scofflaw Eric Gardner, who resisted arrest and struggled with arresting officers. Although Garner’s death occurred in Staten Island, the riots broke out in Oakland and Berkeley California, no less. Again, this amazingly occurred on Barack Obama’s watch! Donald Trump, was NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!
Amazing! All these riots occurred during the “enlightened” Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. And NO DONALD TRUMP FANNING ANY FLAMES AT ALL! IMAGINE THAT!
