More On The Assassination Of Officer Familia
Last week I posted an essay on the tragic assassination of NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia (see Paranoid Violence, 7/12/17). In that article I focused on the under reported danger that unmediated or undermedicated paranoid schizophrenics pose to society. But there’s another very important aspect to the case that bears discussion.
It is of paramount importance to acknowlede that when the frenzied paranoid schizophrenic Alexander Bonds decided to commit murder, he didn’t pick someone at random. He didn’t pick someone he knew. He didn’t pick a civilian. He picked a UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICER. From everything I’ve read, Bonds did NOT KNOW Officer Familia. Ms. Familia was chosen ONLY because she was a uniformed officer of the New York City Police Department. This fact is NOT coincidental. It is the bitter fruit of a wrong headed and ugly wave of antiauthoritarianism that has erupted in America driven by leftist agitators.
On August 9, 2014 a young black man, Michael Brown (who was known to “hear voices” and was probably an undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenic), in Ferguson, Missouri,(after having just robbed a convenience store) responded to a squad car patrolman’s orders by reaching into the squad car window and GOING FOR THE OFFICER’S GUN. The result was the discharge of the officer’s weapon WOUNDING THE OFFICER. After initially starting to run, Brown then turned and went for the officer a SECOND time, during which he was fatally shot. Riots ensued and a radical organization called Black Lives Matter was formed as a so-called “civil rights organization” but has since been responsible for the deaths of several police officers and should be regarded for what it really is: a domestic terrorist group. After Black Lives Matter was formed, it was, amazingly, hailed by the THEN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, Barack Obama, as “today’s FREEDOM FIGHTERS”! And, it was supported by MILLIONS of dollars from various leftist and George Soros supported organizations.
With sympathetic press from the President as well as many members of the Democratic Party, together with a fawning and heavily biased media, this violent movement rolled on an on throughout many cities on numerous occasions following any and all police/perpetrator incidents in which a young black man was shot. Police officers throughout the nation became hamstrung such that they couldn’t do their job for fear of reprisal. A massive “Ferguson Effect” wave of crime ensued. Murder rates in many cities climbed. After another similar event in Chicago, murder rates rose to unprecedented heights (thousands).
Through all of this, police officers were frequently painted as rogues. Even black police officers were somehow portrayed as “racists”. Another couple of years of an Obama-like administration and we might have found our country on the brink of civil war. Fortunately that didn’t occur, but our country is still so far off kilter that antipolice sentiment continues to simmer. And it is in this toxic environment that a psychologically deranged individual can find all the twisted justification needed to fuel the cold blooded and unprovoked assassination of a female police officer, mother and former nurse. It’s a shame.
