Throw Them Out

>There has been a long running debate among historians as to whether history is PRIMARILY shaped BY individuals, or whether individuals are PRIMARILY shaped by history. Of course, you will say, some of both, undoubtably, occurs. And this is true, of course. But the real argument revolves around the word “PRIMARILY.” Push comes to shove, WHICH is more important? The times in which we live, or individuals which live in those times?
>We can find examples on either end of the spectrum. In the realm of history, there are individuals like King Henry the Eighth, that literally grab history by the horns and steer it to their will. During King Henry’s time, NO ONE but he would have challenged the Holy See of Rome, that had armies and armadas at its disposal. Then there are individuals like George Washington that seem to be more a PRODUCT of history than an architect. The American Revolution was going to happen whether Mr. Washington was on the scene or not. It’s true, he did demonstrate superb military and political leadership, and America is FOREVER in his debt, but the revolution drafted him, not the other way around.
>In the realm of science, Albert Einstein produced scientific truth unanticipated by ANYONE in science of that time. Without Einstein, it’s possible that no one would have dreamed of the Theory of Relativity for a hundred years. Watson and Crick, on the other hand, were merely the first to strike scientific gold among several groups that were each VERY close to finding the molecular structure of DNA. If they didn’t figure it out, odds are that another group would have done so, and soon.
>So, one can make good arguments for both schools of thought. However, if I were PRESSED on the matter, I think I would side with the individualist proponents. As such, I would propose that, if we want to radically correct the most egregious maladies of our world today, I think we need to START by changing our leaders.
>The first step, I believe, has already been taken! In England, the great show of no confidence in Prime Minister David Cameron and the FOLLIES of the overly liberal European Union (and the Brexit that went with it) has already been taken. Good start!
>The next crucial step is to, once and for all, end the political program of Barack Obama. Although that program, per se, will end with the inauguration next January, it is CRUCIAL to prevent a Clinton encore. The Obama program has led to unprecedented chaos across the globe, chaos in our cities, unchecked and unvetted immigration, and unrestrained domestic and international terrorism. A Clinton encore would allow these maladies to flourish like infectious diseases among the immunosurpresed.
>The next major step will be to relieve Mrs. Angela Merkle of her duties in Germany. Chancellor Merkle has ushered in a wave of destructive immigration to Germany that is now crippling that country. The process of getting rid of her, may well be underway, as her party suffered massive defeats in the latest election, and her approval rating is now nonexistent.
>Closer to home, Mayor Bill De Blasio needs to be replaced at the very next election. Stop and frisk is no more, and the streets of NY are, once again, becoming the Wild West! (Don’t be fooled by the misleading statistics they put out – all you have to do is read the morning newspapers to see that crime is on the rise). Profiling Muslim groups is now taboo, and, lo-and-behold, BOMBS ARE GOING OFF! Corruption in his administration has gone through the roof. Just about EVERYONE has been indicted, or soon will be. And relations between Albany and the city have NEVER been worse. He has GOT to go!
>Even closer to home, Connecticut needs a new Governor on the double. Dan Malloy has changed the tax structure of our state such that corporations (including GE(which has left Connecticut for, of all places, Massachusetts!!!), are fleeing for their lives, shrinking our tax base, compounding the problem even further!
>Enough is enough, people!
>It’s time for a change of leadership internationally, nationally, regionally and in our state.
>As they used to say: THROW THE BUMS OUT. Let’s start over.
