Some readers may have felt that the conclusion of my recent essay, The Second Month Of War, Part Two (posted November 12, 2023) was overly harsh on Hamas because I likened them to rabid dogs. In response to such understandable criticism, I will have to double down, unfortunately, on this damning assessment. I offer the following video for your contemplation. The video is merely a videotaped interview with a jihadi. The video does not show graphic violence of any kind, but, I think you’ll agree, that it’s disturbing none the less:

And, in case the video is taken down before you can get to it, I will also provide the transcript as follows. Do try to view the original video, however, as it better illustrates the shocking banality (as described by author Hannah Arendt) of the jihadi mindset.
It begins with the jihadi’s answer to a question from the interviewer about how the jihadi feels about the slaughter of innocent non combatant Israelis:
Jihadi: I watch Israeli people die and I masturbate with that.
Interviewer: Wow. What do you think about the Jewish people?
Jihadi: They are dirty. Heil Hitler.
I just like killing Jews. I’ll rape them first. Then I kill them. That’s the difference. Cutting their fingers, my God, it was so good.
I’m in the US right now, I’m in Manhattan. The US is fucking evil. One day we will take all US. All the Muslims will destroy the US and we will rule the world
Interviewer: I wish you find god. I wish you peace.
Jihadi: I have god. Allah.
Sick, isn’t it? Disgusting, too. I think the reader can see what I meant by “rabid dogs”…, and I rest my case.
