Racist America? (One Simple Point)
Yesterday the so-called “Central Park Karen,” aka Amy Cooper was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of Filing a False Report in the 3rd degree. Finally.
The incident, which occurred in May, involved a white woman who became enraged when a black man by the name of Chris Cooper (no relation) asked her to leash her dog, as was required in that area of the park. Inexplicably, Ms. Cooper called 911 complaining that she was being threatened by an “African-American man.” It was revealed today that she called a second time to say that she WAS being assaulted. The birdwatcher, doing none of the things Ms. Cooper alleged, fortunately video taped the whole thing. Mr. Cooper’s video was later posted on the internet by his sister. In the days following the incident, I was shocked to hear a spokesman for the NYPD indicate that the matter would be dropped, saying, “we have bigger fish to fry.” Ladies and gentlemen filing a false police report and falsely accusing anyone, be they black, white or purple, is NOT “small fish.” Had Mr. Cooper not videotaped the incident, he could have been falsely accused. And, emergency response from the NYPD might have involved sirens and high speed motor response, conceivably endangering lives.
I was, therefore, relieved that charges were brought against her by the District Attorney today. FINALLY.
But, there is one more aspect of the incident that needs to be mentioned.
During the incident, when Ms. Cooper was threatening to call the police, Mr. Cooper’s response to her can be clearly heard on the video: “You can do anything you want.” Then: “Call the police.” “PLEASE, call the police!” My “One Simple Point” is: If America is such a racist country, as being claimed by leftists, BLM and Antifa, why would Mr. Cooper, plead with Ms. Cooper to “PLEASE call the police”?… Why, indeed?
