We WILL NOT Let Them
On July 7, the Gallup Organization released the results of a survey of one thousand Americans that found that only 45% were “proud to be American.” My first thought was, how can this be so? Has the continuous carping of Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Nadler, Hillary, Omar, Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez and their ilk warped the national consciousness? Have malcontents in academia and the media brainwashed the populace? Have celebrity leftists poisoned our sense of national self esteem?
Well, fellow Americans, I would answer these questions: ONLY IF WE LET THEM!
And, fellow Americans: WE WILL NOT LET THEM!
We WILL NOT forget that America saved the world from the twin scourges of Nazism and Communism. From concentration camps and the gulag.
We WILL NOT forget that America was THE THIRD COUNTRY ON EARTH TO FORMALLY ABOLISH SLAVERY in 1863 (after Britain in 1833 and France in 1848).
We WILL NOT loose sight of the fact that America is the most generous nation on earth (donating 1.44% of its GDP as documented by the Charities Aid Foundation, CAF).
We WILL NOT forget that only Americans have set foot on the moon.
We WILL NOT forget that America leads the world in Nobel Prize winners at 336, with the United Kingdom being next at 117.
And we will NEVER loose sight of the fact that these words changed the world:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
I am, and will always be, SO proud to be an American, and SO grateful.
So, on this July Fourth, let us ALL be proud!
