A Plague of Deciet
>It has become increasingly obvious that our nation is choking on a cloud of deceit.
It is all around us. It has become a plague. The liars, having been given abject “passes” from the press, no longer even try to hide these flagrant falsehoods, much less retract or apologize for them.
True, there are “fact checkers” holed up on their computers in the shadows somewhere, but many of these (snopes.com, for example) turn out to be rather partisan and biased themselves, and not “impartial” as they claim to be. And, besides, no one seems to care very much anyhow. A New York Times EDITOR recently ADMITTED bias at his paper, saying it was “justified” because “Trump is dangerous”! So much for fair minded and impartial journalism! Yet no one steps up to protest. No one seems, even, to notice.
Some examples from the many available:
>Attn. Gen. Loretta Lynch (On her private, and ILLEGAL, meeting with Bill Clinton preceding Hillary’s testimony): “We talked about our grand children”. His plane, on a flight to the west coast, flew two hours out its way to talk to Ms. Lynch about grandchildren! PLEASE! How stupid do you think we are? Wait! Don’t answer that question!
>Bill Clinton (in reference to his affair with Monica Lewinsky): “I did not have sex with that woman”. A soiled dress put the lie to that statement.
>Barack Obama (BO)(In reference to the Affordable Care Act): “If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. Period.” Nothing could be further from the truth!
>FBI Director James Comey (in reference to his investigation of Hillary’s unsecured communications): “Mrs. Clinton was extremely careless, but did nothing criminal”. Examination of several federal statutes (see my previous post “Common Sense Scoreboard”, 10/12/16) clearly shows her actions to be criminal.
>Hillary (in reference to deleting electronic evidence under subpoena): “All of those 30,000 emails were personal.” Subsequent WiKi leaks showed this was false.
>Hillary (in reference to influence pedaling at the state department): “No one got special treatment”. FOIA disclosures showed that this was false.
>Elizabeth Warren (at the DNC): We must elect Hillary to rid big money’s influence in Washington”. The book Clinton Cash, by Peter Schweizer, showed that this contention was completely false.
>BO (in reference to IRS targeting conservative groups): “I’m outraged!” Neither the head of the IRS, Lois Learner, nor ANYONE else was ever prosecuted. Some “outrage.”
>BO (in reference to the Benghazi attacks): “The perpetrators will be brought to justice.” Only one of the roughly 100 involved was ever charged and has not yet been tried. AND the death penalty (for murdering FOUR Americans) has been ruled out. Some “justice”!
>BO (referring to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action): “This treaty will prevent Iran from getting the bomb”. The treaty leaves thousands of centrifuges running and allows Iran TO CONDUCT ITS OWN VERIFICATION! What kind of treaty is that?
>BO (on delivering 350 MILLION DOLLARS in small denomination Euros secretly to Iran just before several hostages were released): “We didn’t pay 350 Million Dollars for those hostages”. MY response to this claim: “Ipse dixit”! (Latin for “The thing speaks for itself”).
>Hillary (explaining the Benghazi attack): “It was a spontaneous protest of an offensive video”. Her emails from that night show that she knew differently.
>Hillary (referring to Trump opening a new hotel): “He built that hotel with undocumented workers”. That accusation was made a year ago, but was NEVER PROVEN.”
>Hillary (referring to her plane landing in Bosnia): “I remember landing under sniper fire.” Video shows no such thing.
>Then there is a particularly amazing series of what I’ll term, Hillary’s “crescendo lies”, each one trying to cover up a previous lie that was PROVEN false:
>Hillary: “I didn’t have a private server”.
>Hillary: “I didn’t understand how the server worked”.
>Hillary: “I didn’t have government mail on my server”.
>Hillary: “I didn’t have classified mail on my server”.
>Hillary: “The classified mail was not marked as such.”
>Hillary: “I didn’t know that “C” meant classified mail.”
>ALL of the above: PROVEN FALSE!
>So, in conclusion, I’ll leave you with a particularly ironic and annoying example which, again, is demonstrably, false:
>Hillary: “I’m fighting for YOU!”
