The Biden Effect, Part One: Disasters At Home And Abroad
Well, NO ONE was expecting great things from Joe Biden. The bar was, shall we say, set VERY low. But even by those very lax standards, Biden continues to not just embarrass himself and our country, but to unremittingly damage both.
In addition to his ludicrous gaffs, which he makes EVERY SINGLE DAY IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, the confusion and befuddlement he demonstrates EVERY SINGLE DAY IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA (see the following short video for great recent examples:
[thanks DB]), he has presided over fiascos of staggering proportions, both domestic and foriegn.
On the domestic front is, of course, the tragic mess at our southern border. Even with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas declaring, on March 21, that the “border is CLOSED” (WHAT??… isn’t a closed border somehow a “crime against humanity?” Don’t the Democrats keep telling us “That’s not WHO WE ARE?,” etc., etc.) thousands of migrants, at the ill considered invitation of Biden and self serving Democrats, continue to mass at our border. Children are back in cages of one sort or another (they’re now called “enclosures”). Our government is now FLYING migrants to military bases as well as any town or city that will agree to take them. And hundreds and hundreds of the less fortunate are sent back to Mexico while their “asylum” applications are “evaluated.” The reason this disaster isn’t front page news EVERY SINGLE DAY, is only because our complicit media KNOWS how bad this looks and refuses to cover it. (Out of sight, out of mind. Or so they HOPE.)
Also on the home front is Biden’s economic policy. The MASSIVE government expenditures being foisted on the American populace as if they were using Monopoly Money, will, inevitably, result in severe inflation, which will, in turn, will radically increase the cost of living, hurting EVERYONE but the independently wealthy. And it will also make gargantuan tax increases inevitable, further slowing our pandemic recovery. Another disaster.
Internationally, of course, there’s Afghanistan. While pulling our troops out of that godforsaken realm was the correct thing to do, the way it was done, in combination with Biden’s milquetoast persona, emboldened both the Taliban and ISIS (they’re baaaack!). The result has become nothing less than a disaster.
An editorial in the Wall Street Journal by former Vice President Mike Pence is worth recanting here, in part because it explains what went wrong very well and because, aside from the WSJ, Pence’s analysis will get scant attention elsewhere in major American media.

“The progress our administration made toward ending the war was possible because Taliban leaders understood that the consequences of violating the deal would be swift and severe. After our military took out Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani, and U.S. Special Forces killed the leader of ISIS, the Taliban had no doubt we would keep our promise.
But when Mr. Biden became president, he quickly announced that U.S. forces would remain in Afghanistan for an additional four months without a clear reason for doing so. There was no plan to transport the billions of dollars worth of American equipment recently captured by the Taliban, or evacuate the thousands of Americans now scrambling to escape Kabul, or facilitate the regional resettlement of the thousands of Afghan refugees who will now be seeking asylum in the U.S. with little or no vetting. Rather, it seems that the president simply didn’t want to appear to be abiding by the terms of a deal negotiated by his predecessor.
Once Mr. Biden broke the deal, the Taliban launched a major offensive against the Afghan government and seized Kabul. They knew there was no credible threat of force under this president.”
And so the Biden’s pull out concluded with hundreds and hundreds of Americans (the “200” estimate does NOT include their families!) having been left behind and now are at the mercy of the Taliban. And, to his eternal shame, Biden provided the Taliban WITH THE IDENTITY OF THOSE AFGHANS THAT COLLABORATED WITH US. May God have mercy on their souls.
