Yesterday I posted an essay on the Charlotte, North Carolina officer involved shooting, or OIS, titled The Nexus of Survival. I received quite a lot of positive comments on the piece, but I did get critical comments by Zen Cycle (not, I presume, his real name!) that are worth discussing a bit further. (If you’d like to read his comments
Another “day off” on Tuesday. Mrs. Clinton, we were told, was doing “other things.” Other important things I’m sure. In a tight race. Other MORE important things. More important than campaigning. In a very tight race….Is everyone buying all this? Is everyone OK with that explanation? And what about Saturday evening’s interview on the NY/NJ bombings, in which she looked
Charlotte, North Carolina, is the latest municipality to be dragged into chaos and mayhem over an OIS (Officer Involved Shooting). Charges of “Racism!” rage ceaselessly through the “community” and endlessly through the media outlets and agitators that fan the flames. How the charge of “racism” can be applied to the Charlotte incident is beyond my comprehension, because the black perpetrator
The term “cannon fodder” is a expression used to describe combatants that are regarded as expendable by their superiors. The expression means, literally, “food for cannons” and, in my mind, reflects badly, not on the unfortunate combatants that are held in such low regard, but, rather on the callousness and lack of empathy of the leaders and commanders that hold
First, let me say that title shown above is only partially meant as homage to Elmer Fudd (“There’s something very skwuwee around here!”). As some of you will recall, the cartoon character Mr. Elmer Fudd chronically mispronounced the term “screwy” as “skwuwee”! Although not appreciated at the time, Mr. Fudd’s mispronunciation of “screw” and “screwy” as “skwuw” and “skwuwee” leads
What will it take, America, to awaken you? How many acts of violence? How often? How brutal? How brazen? How can you slumber, America? How is sleep possible? The warships are on the horizon. The barbarians are at the gate. The wolf is, indeed, at the door. What might you be thinking? How might you be distracting yourself? Football? Baseball?
It turns out that many media sources EDITED Hillary’s interview on the New York bombings. I came across the full video this morning, and learned that Hillary opened her comments with a sentence that was CUT by a number of media outlets. Now why, dear reader, would they cut her opening sentence? It turns out that they had very good
Although 2016 pales in comparison to 2001 for the severity of jihadi attacks on American soil (due, of course, to the events of 9/11), it is, none-the-less proving itself to be another bumper year for attacks. According to Johnston’s Archive, 2016 can, thus far, boast 10 separate terror attacks with the body count now standing at 63! These attacks, in
Freedom of speech is, perhaps, the most important freedom enumerated in the Bill of Rights. With out freedom of speech society can not better itself. In order to better itself, society must solve existing problems and improve upon intrenched but deficient customs that bog it down. In order to solve problems and correct maladaptive customs, however, individuals in that society
Over this past weekend, quite a bit of water had passed under the bridge. A brief recap: 1) Two bombings occurred yesterday in the NY Metro area, one in a dumpster in the Chelsea area of Manhattan and one in a trash barrel along the planned route of a charity run in New Jersey. The race had been, thankfully, delayed,
