Something, Anything
The farce continues. Day in and day out we are barraged by reports of new “revelations” in the “investigation” of our President. Numerous so-called “whistle blowers” have come out of the woodwork with feigned outrage at a private conversation President Trump had with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of the Ukraine. The allegation is that Mr. Trump “pressured” Mr. Zelensky. However, President Zelensky has publicly stated, over and over again, that there was no coercion or even “quid pro quo” in their discussions. Supposedly, Mr. Trump’s malfeasance in this matter was that he tried to use foriegn sources to investigate a “political rival”, thereby interfering in our electoral processes. Tell me, dear readers, how this is any different from Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee using British and Russian operatives to carry out PAID investigations of Candidate Trump’s activities in Russia?… Of course, there is no difference. Both cases are examples of “opposition research.” Such “research” is used by all political parties to “dig up dirt” on their opponents. Nothing new here. Nothing illegal either. But, just like with the sham “Russian collusion” investigation, the Democrat strategy is to use the narrative to justify never ending investigations of Mr. Trump, in the hope that the will find something, anything, on which he can be impeached.
But, notice, ladies and gentlemen, that the Democrats have not initiated FORMAL impeachment proceedings. Why, you might ask, haven’t they done so? Well, once formal proceedings are underway, BOTH sides get the opportunity to call witnesses and question them UNDER OATH. The knife cuts both ways. But, by keeping the “investigation” in sub committees (the House Intelligence Committee being run by the Democrat majority) they are able to run a one sided attack that, in essence, denies President Trump due process. And, by not calling for a formal vote, they are shielding next election’s Democrat candidates in “toss up states” from the need to take a stand on the record that might hinder their re-election chances. “It’s not a game for us” Nancy Pelosi had the gall to say earlier today. No, Ms. Speaker, it IS a game. And it’s a dirty game, at that.
And another point: The investigations Messers Trump and Zelensky were discussing involved Vice President Joe Biden’s efforts to close a Ukrainian probe into a kickback scheme involving Biden’s son, Hunter, and Burisma Holdings, a huge Ukrainian natural gas company. The main steam media, both in print and in video, have claimed again and again that there is “no evidence” that Biden, WHILE VICE PRESIDENT, pressured the Ukraine to fire the lead investigator. No evidence??? Au contraire, mon ami, there sure is evidence! The evidence is Biden’s own videotaped description! As pointed out in a previous post (The Wrong Conversation 9/23/19), Biden not only admitted that he pressured Ukraine to fire the prosecutor (that was investigating his son), he BRAGGED about doing so! Because the discrepancy between the media claims of “no evidence” and Biden’s SELF ADMISSION, it’s worthwhile to take another look at the video:
As the reader can clearly see, Biden informs the Ukrainian authorities that A BILLION DOLLARS of US loan guarantees is CONTINGENT on firing the problem investigator. His exact words were: “I’m leaving (the Ukraine) in 6 hours. If the prosecutor is not fired by then, you’re not getting the money… And, son of a bitch, he got fired.” And, consider, that this intervention into the legal processes of a sovereign nation was to OBSTRUCT justice. Contrarily, the purpose of Mr. Trump’s conversation with Zelensky was the opposite. The media appear to have misunderstood this important distinction.
So, as the farce continues, the Democrat efforts to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING with which to impeach our president is becoming increasingly desperate. Soon, they’ll want to impeach him… for double parking.
