The Circus
Just when it has become obvious that Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations regarding Judge Kavanaugh have fallen completely apart, the Democrats have found another “victim” willing to smear the candidate. So the circus continues. Let’s take a closer look. First, at Blasey Ford.
Since Diane Feinstein sprung the Blasey Ford allegations on the Judiciary Committee two weeks ago (MONTHS after they became known to her) a number of things have surfaced that are not, shall we say, supportive of her narrative.
After keeping the original letter from the public, Feinstein finally bowed to pressure and released the document. Strangely, the font of the second paragraph does NOT match the font of the rest of the letter, raising great suspicion that the text we are currently reading was ALTERED from the original. The need to alter the text (in response, presumably, to some statement that must have been either ambiguous or demonstrably false) questions the veracity of the accusations there in. So does the failure of Ford to remember “minor details” such as where and when the event occurred.
Skepticism is further warranted when it comes to light that NONE of the witnesses NAMED BY FORD have corroborated her accusations. In addition to Mark Judge and Patrick Smith, both of who said that they have no recollection of the event in question, a third person, Leland Ingham Keyser, a woman and CLOSE FRIEND of Ford, also denied any knowledge of it. So, in addition to Kavanaugh himself, we have three witnesses NAMED BY HER, and ALL of them have denied her account.
Over the weekend, Kavanaugh had the good sense to go through a trunk of his student memorabilia and found a detailed appointment book that listed his social calendar for the summer in question and which meticulously listed the parties he went to and who was there. There is NO listing of ANY party attended by the individuals Ford describes in her allegations.
And, the one individual who had said that she HEARD of the incident in question has since recanted. Christina King Miranda, a classmate of Ford’s, initially said that the incident was gossiped about “for days IN CLASS”. There are two problems with this poorly thought out claim: 1) The incident reportedly happened in the summer and THERE WERE NO CLASSES. 2) Ford said she had told NO ONE about the incident for decades, so no one could have talked about it “in class”. Miranda has since recanted her claim (and has deleted all of her social media accounts).
So, with the Blasey Ford claims falling apart, the “resistance” has gotten desperate. They’ve now latched on to yet ANOTHER woman willing to claim mistreatment by Judge Kavanaugh. Her name is Deborah Ramirez, a classmate of Kavanaugh’s at Yale. Ramirez claims that a drunken Kavanaugh exposed himself to her during a party. She admitted, however, that she had “holes in my memory” of the event because she too was inebriated at the time…. HOLES IN HER MEMORY?!!… And, to fill in those “holes” she recalls another student “shouting Kavanaugh’s name”…. FULL NAME, she claims, “BRETT KAVANAUGH”, by the way… A FULL NAME/!!…(Really?)…ANOTHER STUDENT SHOUTING A NAME?!!!… A FULL NAME/!!… And, apparently, the “holes” were big enough, that she called a number of her classmates just prior to coming forward, ASKING THEM if they remembered Kavanaugh’s actions. They did NOT. Two of the men NAMED by Ramirez as witnesses have stated they have “no recollection of Kavanaugh exposing himself.” One other person did say that he recalls that some one “told him about the incident”…. THAT’S the corroboration?.. Some one “TOLD HIM”?!!… That used to be called HEARSAY.
Six of the Yale classmates were so disturbed by all of this that they felt compelled to write: “We can say with confidence that if the incident Debbie alleges ever occurred, we would have seen or heard about it – and we did not”. They went further: “In addition, some of us knew Debbie long after Yale and she never described this incident until Brett’s Supreme Court nomination was pending.” One of the signatories to the letter, a woman, told the New Yorker Magazine that Ramirez “is a woman that I was best friends with. We shared intimate details of our lives. And I was never told this story by her or anyone else. It never came up. I didn’t see it; I never heard of it happening.”
So, “holes in my memory”, a “student shouting some one’s name”, “asking others what happened” and someone “telling someone else”: THESE are the baseis for derailing a Supreme Court appointment?!!!…Sounds pretty weak, doesn’t it? Apparently, Ramirez thought so too! During her initial conversations with the New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role. It was only after SIX DAYS OF “CAREFULLY ASSESSING HER MEMORIES” that she decided that Kavanaugh was the culprit!!!… She had to think about it FOR SIX DAYS?!!.. (Really?)… And we are supposed to take her allegations seriously?!!.. SERIOUSLY?
Then there’s shyster Michael Avenatti (who famously advised porn star Stormy Daniels to break a clearly worded non disclosure agreement for which SHE HAD ACCEPTED PAYMENT, and for which there may be serious liability), who claims he knows someone who knows someone…
And then there was New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray, leading a bevy of angry women on the steps of City Hall today, presumably after a thorough investigation of the matter, in chants of “WE BELIEVE YOU!..WE BELIEVE YOU!”…
Time for the circus to move on.
