Preposterous!
Earlier today Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was on CBS calling for further delay in the date that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testifies as to her accusations of sexual impropriety by Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Dr. Ford, through her attorney, claimed that an appearance on Monday would be “impossible”… Impossible?… IMPOSSIBLE?!… What?… Does she have a meeting scheduled with the PTA? Is she planning a “date night” with her husband? A “night out with the girls”? An appointment with her therapist? Her hair stylist? Her favorite soap opera on TV?… Perhaps it’s a transportation problem? Is she unaware that modern airline service from California to DC that can deliver her to the Senate in about six hours?… Impossible?… Preposterous!
And, she further claims that she must have a full FBI investigation PRIOR to CONSIDERING to testify!.. WHAT the heck?… If she truly believes the narrative that she’s put forward thus far, prior investigation by the FBI should have NO bearing on her testimony. She can state her accusations and her version of the event in question, and that should be that. Why wait for the FBI?… Is she waiting to see what they “come up with” to determine what SHE will say?… Preposterous!
She also claims that she is concerned about her safety. IF this truly is the case, it’s not clear how a six week delay in testifying will help. Are we to believe that what ever threat currently exists will be less severe on November 7th (Election Day 2018 is Tuesday November 6) than next Monday?… Preposterous!
Then, the ever helpful Senator Kirsten Gillibrand claims, with a straight face, that Ford is “being rushed”… Being rushed?.. RUSHED?!… THIRTY FIVE YEARS isn’t ENOUGH time to have come forward?.. Rushed?… Preposterous!
Likewise, New York State Governor, Andrew Cuomo, claims that Dr. Ford is “being bullied”. And, concurring with Cuomo’s opinion, Blumenthal stated that she should have the opportunity to tell her story at the time and in the manner of her choosing. That is all well and good, guys, but keep in mind, WE HAVE A SUPREME COURT APPOINTMENT underway. And the Court convenes for it’s fall term on the first of October. Are we to derail Kavanaugh’s appointment on the basis of an unprovable, “he said/she said” allegation (with absolutely NO corroborating evidence) of misdemeanor sexual impropriety made by a woman with an axe to grind, and which allegedly took place THIRTY SIX YEARS AGO?… Are we?… Preposterous!
And, another twist in this story has surfaced as I’m writing this (the story seems to change by the minute!). Ford’s Democratic and “progressive” handlers must have figured out that her refusal to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee is further eroding her credibility, which, at present, lies somewhere below that of BERNIE MADOFF. And, someone must have also figured out that, following well established protocols, the FBI would NOT be coming to the “rescue” by mandating a “delay of game”. Accordingly, all those involved must have concluded that if she (and her Democratic posse) want to derail the Kavanaugh appointment, that she had better take her best shot NOW. Accordingly, we are now told that Dr. Ford WILL appear next week, IF Judge Kavanaugh is barred from the proceedings… Barred?… Are we to ABANDON the practice, guaranteed, by the way, by the Sixth Amendment, that accused defendants have the right to see their accuser?… Are we?… Preposterous!
And, when all is said and done, are we to think that America will not see through this charade, and be duped by this obvious last minute ploy by a desperate Democratic Party?… Are we?… Preposterous!
