The Trump Effect
Since the majority of American news sources almost never bestow accolades on President Trump, and since they inundate him daily with unheard amounts of opprobrium, and since his own tweets often confuse the situation more than they help, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that….he’s done a TERRIFIC job. In order to try and rectify this egregious state of affairs, a reality check is in order. Accordingly I will list 15 of his major successes in as many months.
In just 15 months President Trump has:
1: Rescued the economy. The 2016 GDP under Obama was a paltry 1.5% whereas in 2017 under President Trump it was 2.3%, with the annualized GDP growth rates for June and September 2017 that were 3.0% and 3.1% respectively. (Source: Chuck Jones, Forbes Magazine: January 18, 2018)
2: Has increased border security. The Border Wall is actually under construction in several locations as we speak. And he’s deployed additional border patrol to act as proxies until the Wall is complete.
3: Has improved the effectiveness of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Service. The year 2017 saw annual removals of illegal aliens climb to 61,094 from 44,512 under Obama in 2016. And even more impressive, is that early 2018 data suggests that removal are now DECREASING due to reduced illegal traffic INTO our country. (Source: www.ice.gov).

5: Has fostered dramatically increased corporate investment to the tune of 6.9 TRILLION dollars. (Source: Patti Domm, CNBC, Jan 18, 2018).
6: Has brought America’s stock averages to new highs. The Dow’s 31% gain in 2017 is the highest SINCE FDR. (Source: CNBC, same as above).
7: Has already obtained trade concessions from China and Mexico with more expected.
8: Has decimated ISIS and collapsed the “caliphate”.
9: Has stood up to Vladimir Putin and Russian expansionist activities more firmly than anyone since Kennedy.
10: Has garnered support from France and, possibly, other NATO members, for demanding major changes to the Iran nuclear deal. (See the joint news conference with Emmanuel Macron, April 26, 2018).
11: Has dramatically lowered taxes, and not just for the “rich”. The percentage of American tax payers who will receive a tax cut is a whopping EIGHTY (80) percent. (Source: the non partisan Tax Policy Center).
12: Has opposed the NRA by favoring tighter firearm restrictions and supporting the Manchin-Toomey bill which requires better back ground checks. (Source ABC, March 2, 2018)
13: Has stopped financial aid to many of our enemies, including Hezbollah and Pakistan. (Source: www.vox.com, January 8, 2018)
And this change in policy has been supported by a refreshingly clear reckoning as to the true nature of our, so called, “allies”. (An article from the liberal Brookings Institute, no less, from January 4, 2018 headlined: “Trump Is Right: Pakistan Is A Terrorist Haven.”)
14: Forced NATO members to increase their defense spending closer to treaty mandated requirements.
15: Has begun to make significant PROGRESS on Korea. While it’s true that only time will tell exactly how committed Kim Jong-Un is to peace on the Korean Peninsula, it is still quite impressive that Kim has stopped nuclear testing and is no longer shooting missiles over Japan. And, further, MAY be releasing three US hostages that, during Obama’s watch, had been remanded to a labor camp. And, it is quite remarkable that, after SIXTY FIVE YEARS of only armistice (cease fire) between North and South Korea, both sides are now discussing a PEACE TREATY. This degree of rapprochement was unheard of during the tenure of Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
And he’s done all this in the face of “deep state” subterfuge and Democratic intransigence of UNPRECEDENTED proportions. Accolades, ladies and gentlemen, ARE in order.
