Update Of An Update
It would appear that public life in America moves ahead incredibly fast these days. Since posting my Trump Agenda Update yesterday, new developments now require an update of the update.
Of most importance, the Supreme Court dismissed the suit from Hawaii that attempted to block President Trump’s travel ban. It was suspected that the Court might just have elected to let it expire (it did come with an expiration date), but by formally vacating the suit, the Supreme Court prevented the lower court’s decisions blocking the travel ban from being used as precedents in other cases. This further substantiates the Constitutionality of the ban.
Incriminating developments in the Hillary Clinton Campaign’s collusion with the Russians on the Trump “dossier” continue to snowball. The FBI itself and then director James Comey, are now under scrutiny. Because of Special Council Robert Mueller’s close ties to the FBI and James Comey, the editors of the Wall Street Journal, today, have called on Robert Mueller to resign. In the words of the WSJ, Mueller “lacks the critical distance to conduct a creditable probe of the bureau.” As far as I’m concerned, his resignation can’t come quick enough.
Just this morning House Committee on the Judiciary chairman Bob Goodlatte and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy announced the formation of a joint committee to investigate how the Clinton server investigation was handled (James Comey writing letters of exoneration BEFORE the investigation even started, for example).
Lastly, on the “Draining the Swamp” front, New York City mayor Bill DeBlasio may have real trouble on his hands. A campaign contributor, Jona Rechnitz just testified today, in court and under oath that he “bought” BeBlasio. He testified that for $193,000 DeBlasio gave real estate favors (was bribed) to him. Call for reopening last years bribery investigation and the appointment of a special prosecutor followed immediately.
