Hidden Danger
In our well meaning quest to prove just how enlightened a society we are, America, as a nation, has been tripping all over itself to welcome people from other shores and other countries. In this blind rush to bring foreigners to our country Americans are, apparently, unaware of a hidden danger. And, in many circumstances, America is getting MUCH more than it bargained for.
In a previous post (The Costs Of Immigration, 9/17/16) I discussed how importing Muslims brings with it a vast increase in microchephaly. The science behind this discussion came from a prestigious and unbiased source: the British medical journal Lancet. Microcephally means, literally, “tiny brain.” It is universally associated with profound mental retardation. Few people with this malady can live independently. The cost of the proper care of individuals in this group will be staggering.
Today, I will describe another, surprising area of research that has bearing on the immigration issue. The source of this research is an article titled: Consanguinity and Reproductive health among Arabs, published in the online journal, Reproductive Health, 10/8/2009 10.1186/1742-4755-6-17. The lead author, Ghazi O. Tadmouri, as well as most of the co-authors, carried out their research at the Center For Arabic and Genomic Studies, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Hanan A Hamamy of the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, Geneva Switzerland, also contributed.
So what is the issue at hand? In a word: INBREEDING. The more technical term is consanguinity (literally, “of the same blood”), which, in its broadest form means procreation among close family members. Although, in principal, this includes incestuous (50% or 25% shared DNA) as well as first (12.5% shared DNA) and second cousin (3.5% shared DNA) intercourse, almost all cultures ban incest, so the phenomena normally revolves around sexual relations between first and second cousins. The term “inbred” conveys the meaning most succinctly.
Although Islamic scripture does have certain passages that seem to warn against inbreeding, Muhammad himself married his cousin, and, in the Koran, Allah allows sexual relations between cousins (Quran, verse 4:23-24). The authors of the Tadmouri article point out that Arab cultures have a “long tradition of consanguinity due to sociology-cultural factors.” They go on to say that “Many Arab countries have the highest rates of consanguineous marriages in the world.” They further point out that “in some countries like Qatar, Yemen and UAE, consanguinity rates are INCREASING in the current generation”.
The actual rates of consanguineous marriages in Arabic countries are truly astonishing. 34% of ALL marriages in Algiers are consanguineous. 80% in Nubia (southern Egypt). 60% in Iraq. 64% in Jordan. 64% in Kuwait. 42% in Lebanon. 48% in Libya. 47% in Mauritania. 54% in Qatar. 67% in Saudi Arabia. 63% in Sudan. 40% in Syria. 39% in Tunisia. 54% in United Arab Emirates. 45% in Yemen. 70% in Pakistan.
So how does this amazing socio-cultural phenomenon bode for the children of such marriages. In a word: POORLY. It has long been known that children of consangunous marriages have a higher incidence of birth defects. But, in addition to debilitating birth defects that are obvious at birth, there are more subtle and pernicious effects as well.
In an article from June 1, 2017, psychologist Nicolai Sennels notes that there is an increased risk of depression and schizophrenia. He also notes that the risk of mental retardation (defined as an IQ of 69 or less) is FIVE TIMES that of a non consanguineous union. Even NON retarded children of consanguineous unions are said to have IQ’s 10 to 16 points lower. This may explain why, in Denmark, non western immigrants are THREE HUNDRED TIMES more likely to fail the Danish Army’s intelligence test than are native Danes.
It should be pointed out that Dr. Sennels’ conclusions are NOT unique. One can find MANY articles which document similar conclusions. Another similar published article for the interested reader, is by Mohd Fareed and Mohammad Afzal titled: Estimating the Inbreeding Depression on Cognitive Behavior: A Population Based Study of Child Cohort, PLOS ONE 9(10): e109585.
In conclusion, inbreeding is RAMPANT in the Arab world. The complications of this practice and the ill effects it will have on future generations are well known, well documented and well understood. The prevalence of consanguinity in the Arab world as well as its implications have been well documented by respected medical investigators. This harsh reality should simply NOT be ignored by anyone interested in the debate about the wisdom of allowing mass immigration to our country.
