Because They Can!
Well, ladies and gentlemen, the loyalty of Jewish Americans to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is beyond reproach. The percentage of Jewish votes that went to Obama in 2008 was 78% and in 2012 it was 69%. Further, the percentage of Jewish Americans that, after eight terrible years of failure of the Democratic agenda in both the domestic and international arena, voted for a continuation of that legacy in the person of Hillary Clinton was an astonishing 70%!
All of this attests to rather extraordinary loyalty to the Democratic agenda. And what do they get for this amazing fealty?…They get… a one-two punch… to the groin.
Punch one (international): Under the direction of president Obama, the United States today failed to block a UN resolution condemning settlements in the West Bank AND Jerusalem! This failure to kill the measure was a historic break with our policy since the formation of the State of Israel. It was done against the strident objections of Israel’s Ambassador and Prime Minister. It legitimizes the judgement that, by putting up settlements, Israel is VIOLATING INTERNATIONAL LAW. The implications of this change could be staggering. And it could have been avoided with a simple “Nay”. Truly an ironic payback (read: betrayal) for the fierce loyalty of the American Jew.
Punch two (domestic): Mr. Obama, throughout his presidency, has been increasing immigration to our country from the mid-east. As his term is coming to an end, he has become increasingly frantic to increase the number of “refugees” further. Despite his assurances of “thorough vetting” the administration has been so eager to bring these refugees in, and the vetting process has been so poor, that over 100 “refugees” recently given “asylum” were found, upon further scrutiny, to actually be on the NO FLY LIST for terror related concerns. For individuals of this ilk, antisemitism is not just a literary fad among the intelligentsia or an interesting issue to debate. It’s a rabid motivator of hatred, intimidation and violence. So this “asylum” nonsense effectively brings dangerous antisemitism from a half a world away right to our doors! An ironic payback (again, read: betrayal) of breathtaking proportions.
Now, the question naturally arises as to why Obama, Hillary and the Democratic Party would do this sort of thing? Apparently, the answer is that they do this… because they think THEY CAN! Evidently, they expect American Jews to line up like good little liberals and “progressives” and support them, NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO! As a Jewish friend of mine said many years ago: “American Jews would vote for Arafat if he ran as a Democrat!” (Thanks, E.G.).
A pretty sad state of affairs, it’s true. Let’s hope that it might change in the future.
