Many readers will remember that, a number of years back, Martha Stewart, the doyen of contemporary American taste and design, had served prison time for something or another. Few readers will recall, however, that it was none other than the redoubtable James Comey who put her there. Stewart was relentlessly investigated by Comey for insider trading. NONE was found. Doesn’t it SEEM that we just can’t do ANYTHING right any longer? During a typical baby boomer’s youth, train wrecks were a RARE occurrence. Subways ran regularly without mishap. False civil defense warnings were unheard of. And news reporters got the story straight. The FIRST time. Lately, major train wrecks seem to happen every couple of months. We’ve had 2
Yesterday the stock market managed to lose 567 points and then gain 1,134 points ON THE SAME DAY. It ended 567 points higher that it started. And last Friday there had been a major sell off. Understandably, this has made some investors quite nervous. The “volatility” doesn’t surprise me however. In my mind, the stock market is nothing more (or
The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) memo that was released on Friday (2/2/18) referenced evidence that clearly shows that FBI Director James Comey, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and acting Attorney General Sally Yates all signed a series of Foriegn Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Court applications that intentionally deceived that Court in order
Senator Corey Booker, referring to the the release of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) memo on the FBI Foriegn Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) application to spy on Carter Page, said that today was “a sad day” in America. And I would fully agree. But NOT for the reason he thinks. Mr. Booker seems to feel that it’s
Through out the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and even the 90’s and 00’s, the FBI and CIA were held in low regard by the Democratic Party, Hollywood, academia, and minorities. These agencies were commonly portrayed as draconian enforcers for the “establishment”. They were suspected to be involved in illegal surveillance, intimidation, authoritarianism and general “not niceness”. Rogue elements were thought to
Last night’s State Of The Union Address was criticized and ridiculed by the Democratic Party en masse (their response was epitomized by an inane and even embarrassing speech by none other than Kennedy heir Joe the third). It was denounced by such Hollywood Luminaries as Mark Ruffalo (comic book actor in the Avengers), Michael Moore (college drop out) and Cynthia
It was a tour de force. President Trump’s first State of the Union was a victory lap for himself and the Republican Party, certainly, but more importantly, was truth serum for the Democratic Party. The Democrats talk a good game. They claim to be patriots. They claim to love our country. They claim to represent black and hispanics. They claim
In a couple of weeks Congress will again take up the issues of immigration and the border wall. During this process our leaders will do well to remember and reflect on why there are immigration laws to begin with. It is fact that EVERY single country that has a codified penal system has immigration laws (see “Immigration by country” in:
The self righteous uproar over President Trump’s graphic terminology describing some Third World Nations in Africa and the mideast does nothing, unfortunately, to change the shocking state that many of these countries are in. Whether President Trump used the term “s**tholes” or not (which, by the way, is far from certain, considering the dishonest history of Senator Durbin, the main
