Affordability
The Democrats think they have a new shibboleth: affordability. This is important to them as they have LITERALLY nothing else to offer to the American people, and even less to lure voters to the ballot box. Their own confused rhetoric, coupled with the outlandish demands from the ever more strident “woke” base, have boxed them into a corner wherein they find themselves:
Protesting efforts to make the streets of America’s most dangerous cities SAFER.
Defending narco traffickers whose wares bring nothing but death and the destruction of countless lives.
Defending “open boarders” whereby hordes of criminals enter our country to prey upon the innocent.
Defending having men in women’s bathrooms, bigger and stronger biological males competing against young (biological) girls in sports, putting tampons in boy’s bathrooms and other ridiculous positions.
Favoring and instituting higher taxes.
Criticizing and attempting to stifle free speech simply because they don’t like it.
And MANY other preposterous agendas.
With the election of Communist Jihadi Zoran Momdani (who’s only sane position, among many that were insane [defunding the police, etc.] was offering to supposedly cut down the, admittedly, high cost of living in NYC). Although Momdani’s win probably had more to do with the high proportion of naturalized foreigners in New York, and, perhaps, the gullibility of the non sophisticated voter, the Democrat party JUMPED on the concept.
But… WAIT! Although”affordability” is a great slogan, what is the reality behind the high cost of living? And… who, exactly, is to blame?
The three biggest causes of the high cost of living are TAXES, ENERGY and INFLATION. And, dear readers, guess who’s responsible for ALL THREE…. Yep! You guessed it! Democrats and their policies! Let’s explain (you won’t hear this, by the way, from CNN, ABC, MSNow [yes, NBC kicked MSNBC out!] and even the many leftist professors that populate today’s academia.
The average American taxpayer pays 27-30% of his/her income on taxes (federal, state and local) according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (https://www.cbpp.org). Whoa!! That accounts for nearly a THIRD on an individual’s cost of living! Imagine that! And WHO, ladies and gentlemen constantly pushes to keep taxes high or pushes to make them HIGHER? Yep. It’s those sly Democrats.
Next, is another big one: the cost of ENERGY! This cost is both direct and indirect. “Low-income households (those that can least afford it) face much higher burdens, often exceeding 17% of their income, and some spending over 20% on energy,” according to the Department of Energy (www.energy.gov) Whoa!!!! Another BIG CHUNK of the cost of living exposed. And that’s just DIRECT expenditures. Indirect energy cost also play a huge role in the high cost of living in that, nearly every thing one buys has to be transported from the farm, factory, or warehouse, and of course this expense must be PASSED ON TO THE CONSUMER. Democrats, surreptitiously, do every thing they can to keep energy costs high! Why? Well first, they think that using energy is EVIL (harming the environment, the nation, the world) and when energy costs are high, they think people will use less (unfortunately, for many people who have to get to work, school, grocery stores, medical care, etc., a certain amount of cutting back is just not possible). And, they continuously stop or block all measures that might lower energy costs (cancelling the Keystone Pipeline, for example, shutting down the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, and many other anti energy interventions). So, who to blame for high energy costs? Yep. It’s those duplicitous Democrats, again!
Then there’s INFLATION. According to one source: “Inflation is a primary driver of high living costs, reducing your money’s buying power by increasing prices for essentials like food, housing, and energy, making everyday goods and services significantly more expensive, forcing households to spend hundreds of dollars extra monthly just to maintain their previous standard of living, and disproportionately impacting lower-income families by eroding their budgets faster.” (https://www.investopedia.com)
The Democrats, again, are the culprits. And, on this one, they are SNEAKY! In order to offset high taxes and high energy costs, the Democrats, invariably, PRINT MORE MONEY. With more actual cash in the economy, salaries rise and the economy SEEMS to boom. Trouble is, however, the SPENDING POWER of each and every dollar goes down, because, with a limited amount of available goods and services and more cash to spend on them, prices invariably rise, and, voilá, you have inflation. And, those sly Democrats then blame it on somebody else. Blaming Trump for most of our current inflation is like blaming the fireman who comes to put out the fire for the fire itself!
Now, to be fair, the Trump tariffs probably did contribute to a portion of the inflation that Americans now face (to be offset, very soon, by the increased revenue we are already seeing). Fortunately, this effect is likely temporary.
So, if those deceitful Democrats, media personalities and leftist professors blame inflation on Trump and the Republicans, DON’T BUY IT! And, if you you find yourself in a discussion about the cost of living with a Democrat or Democrat acolyte, just counter with those three big words: TAXES, ENERGY and INFLATION. Touché.
