Morning In America
By guest writer Little Sister and Little Child
Dear readers, did you wake up Wednesday morning with an overwhelming sense of relief? Were you relaxed, unburdened by what has been? Was a great weight lifted? Thanks to the amazing tenacity of Donald Trump and the determination of the newly perspicacious citizenry who saw through leftist deceit, we now have a chance to take our country back from those who would destroy its greatness. We can be proud of America once more.
“Morning in America” was the theme of President Ronald Reagan who was elected in 1980 under similar circumstances. Like Trump, replacing the failed Presidency of Joe Biden, Regan replaced the dismal Presidency of Jimmy Carter. During the four years of the Carter administration, America was beset by a “pandora’s box” of ills. The term “stagflation“ described the disheartening combination of very slow economic growth coupled with soaring inflation and high interest rates. Our country was humiliated by the despotic mullahs of Iran who held 54 Americans hostage and thumbed their nose at us for all the world to see. Critical shortages of gasoline nearly brought our country to a standstill with rationing and massive lines at the pump. Heating our homes became a financial challenge for many Americans. Further, we were locked in a Cold War with the USSR which showed no signs of abating. Traditional American optimism had melted into what President Carter rightly described as a “malaise.” The country cried out for a savior and Regan was it. Like the Clint Eastwood character in “Pale Rider” Reagan rode in to a crippled America, kicked butt (slashing taxes, staring down Iran and standing up to the USSR) and saved our nation. Truly, it was morning in America.
Like Reagan, Trump is an outsider. He brings with him a new brand of optimism and an unflinching strength. In his previous term, Trump jump started a weak economy with dramatic tax cuts. He will do it again. Once again Iran continues to bait America with proxy wars against our allies and assassination attempts against Mr. Trump himself. Trump will bring Iran to its knees. Severe economic sanctions will be the order of the day and Israel will be set loose. America will regain her confidence and vigor once more and it will be “morning in America” once again.
Such an elation swept over this country on November sixth. A diverse contingent of Americans had voted to take back our nation from those who would transform it into something our founding fathers would never have recognized. Those of us who came together to defeat Kamala Harris woke up feeling great! A burden was lifted. Against all odds, we had taken back our country, the country of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy. We the people have spoken. We will no longer be called Nazis and Fascists. We will no longer be called “garbage.” We will see to it that our border is made secure and our citizens safe. But most of all we will, as a nation, not tolerate the censorship and attacks on our first amendment rights, so emblematic of the Biden administration. We will look forward to to the end of a weaponized Department of Justice that has used the FBI like a SWAT team against our own citizens. We will insist upon full exoneration of President Trump who had been falsely arrested under fabricated charges in an effort to disqualify his candidacy.
Suddenly, now, there are groups in this country that have a special reason to rejoice. These are the border patrol, ICE, inner city police and fire fighters as well as prosecutors who work to protect the victim, not the criminal. Now all of these will know that the pendulum is swinging and they won’t have to worry about being sued or fired when they do their job.
We can all take a little time to savor this moment when our belief in America has paid off. As we take back our country, we are once again proud to be American.
But, we can’t take too long in our reverie, however, because the woke activists are still “out there” and, make no mistake, they will continue their nefarious ways. They have vowed to fight on and so must we. We’ve got a lot to do, for, now, it’s Morning in America once again!
