Desperate
Yesterday, Jerrold Nadler (Democratic Congressman from New York State), laid out article’s of impeachment against President Trump. The most telling thing that can be said regarding this “development” is a simple question: is anyone SURPRISED? Is there even ONE PERSON in the entire United States of America that was in the least bit surprised by this?… I didn’t think so. In the hyper partisan Democrat majority House of Representatives, impeachment was a forgone conclusion.
Although the Democrats, and their media sycophants, took great pains to try to make the proceedings look like a legitimate inquiry, the veneer was very thin. Right from the very beginning there were signs that the whole enterprise was nothing more than a political hit job.
It has been established that the initial “whistle blower” complaint was made AFTER the “blower’s” consultations with Adam Schiff (Democratic Congressman from California), tainting the very basis upon which this impeachment inquiry began. It then became known that the “blower” had never even heard the President’s phone conversation himself! The complaint was based upon hearsay. Then the unhinged duo of Schiff and Nadler proceeded to inundate the airways with astonishing hyperbole, BEFORE the supposed “inquiry” even began. And, remember, during the Mueller Investigation, Nadler had previously, and incredulously, accused President Trump of “obstruction of justice” because, he said, Mr. Trump CALLED THE INVESTIGATION A WITCH HUNT! That’s right: Trump’s WORDS, according to Nadler, were an “obstruction of justice!”
Then, as the “inquiry” began, closed door witness auditions were held in order to make certain that no exculpatory testimony would be forthcoming in the public phase of the hearings! And, once all the ducks were in a row and the public hearings were underway, a series of witnesses with obvious axes to grind were paraded through the proceedings. One of their “star witnesses” Colonel Alexander Vindman was so biased and partisan that, PRIOR to his current testimony, his loyalty and judgement were considered suspect by HIS OWN BOSS at the National Security Council, Timothy Morrison. Another “star witness”, a former (Obama appointee) ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch, had a big axe to grind: she had been FIRED by the President. And ANOTHER “star witness”, EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland, was so obviously intimidated by the possibility he might be criminally prosecuted (à la General Michael Flynn), he gave the most self serving and defensive testimony ever uttered in the halls of Congress.
All of this was followed by the theatrics of closed door “deliberations” performed with the express purpose of trying to generate some suspense and a modicum of public interest.
Then, with feigned solemnity, the announcement of Articles of Impeachment was made. The language used in Pelosi’s announcement was a masterpiece of deceit. She said that the Democrats would be bringing articles of impeachment “with great sadness”, (Sadness, Ms. Pelosi?.. Sadness??… I don’t think so!) and “humility.” (Humility, Ms. Pelosi?… Humility??… Please, SPARE me!). The Democrats would have you believe there was some kind of NATIONAL EMERGENCY that forced their hand. Nadler, backed up by Pelosi, had the absolute GALL to say that they HAD to impeach President Trump “to keep him from interfering with our electoral process AGAIN in 2020.” That’s right! He used the word “AGAIN”!… And he did so on at least TWO occasions!… BUT, Ladies and Gentlemen, you will recall that a forty million dollar investigation by a very sharp and aggressive prosecutor (Robert Mueller) found that Mr. Trump DID NOT INTERFERE with the electoral process! Mueller concluded that there likely was minor “interference” on the part of the Russians but Mr. Trump was found to have had NOTHING to do with it. Nadler was, blatantly, LYING.
So why all of this exaggeration, hyperbole and deception?… It’s very simple, folks: the Democrats are terrified that Mr. Trump will WIN AGAIN. Polls now show him doing well in “battleground” states (I read one analyst who said that the results of entire 2020 election will depend ONLY on what happens in Ohio and Pennsylvania, both of which have had dramatic increases in their economies under President Trump). We’ve partially disengaged from the quagmire of Syria. The economy is booming. And the field of potential Democratic challengers (with or without Hillary) for the Presidency in 2020 is VERY WEAK. The Dems are desperate, and this Impeachment sideshow demonstrates just how desperate they are.
