Of Course We Do
As discussed in a previous essay (The Compassionate Wall, 4/27/18), America’s “porous” southern border has created what amounts to a humanitarian disaster. The caravan brought with it violence, rape, disease, human trafficking, and much more. Aside from these tragedies, our porous border has allowed the influx of massive amounts of unskilled and illiterate people. Border Patrol apprehended over a HALF A MILLION people crossing our southern border illegally just last year. And, another 20% are estimated to have escaped detection (Source: Investor’s Business Daily, 1/10/19). The majority of these illegals soon became beneficiaries of Uncle Sam’s largess with free food, clothing, medical care and even education for the juveniles, while their claims of “asylum” are “processed”, a procedure that often goes on for YEARS. While it is true that 40% of illegals in the US are those that overstayed their Visas, SIXTY PERCENT are those that CROSSED THE BORDER ILLEGALY. As a consequence the American taxpayer will spend, on average, SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS on EACH one. Although that estimate may sound preposterously high, it came from the Center For Immigration Studies (cis.org) and was published on October 28, 2018.
Although all of the above is egregious enough, most of the “sturm un drang” associated with illegal migrants occurs at or near the border. Barack Obama, at home in his mansion in the tony Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, DC, will never be at risk of attack by violent aliens. Nor will Nancy Pelosi in her estate in St. Helena (Napa Valley), California. Nor Chuck Schumer in his 2 million dollar apartment. Nor Hillary in her 2.7 million dollar Chappaqua, New York, estate. No, these politicians, “open border advocates” all, are quite removed from any trouble that illegal aliens might bring to our land.
The rest of America, however, is not so lucky. Unfortunately, drugs, gangs, criminals and psychopaths don’t, by nature, stay put. They spread out like a disease across our land.
The list of horrific violence committed by illegal aliens is too lengthy to be enumerated here, but a number of “high profile cases” just can’t expunged from memory. And that’s not because they are unique and rare, but rather because their depravity boggles the mind.
It’s hard to forget pictures of beautiful Mollie Tibbettes who was stabbed to death by illegal Mexican immigrant Christhian Rivera in Ohio while she was JOGGING. Likewise, it’s hard to forget the story of two THIRTEEN YEAR OLDS, Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens, who were murdered by illegal immigrants from El Salvador that were part of the ultra violent MS-13 gang on Long Island. They were HACKED TO DEATH (while still alive) with machetes. The perpetrators, Enrique Portillo, Alexi Saenz and Jairo Saenz, smirked and laughed at their arraignment in court as the murdered girls’ families looked on in horror.
The depravity evidenced above, as well as in MANY other cases, would seem to be hard to “top”, but, in fact, it has been topped by Tommy Alvarado-Ventura, who stabbed two women on Long Island and beat and raped one of the women’s TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. He was recently sentenced to 26 years to life in prison, where tax payers such as you and I will support him in relative comfort. Prior to these attacks, he had been deported to his home country, El Salvador, FOUR TIMES.
And, not only do we need to protect our women and our two year olds girls from such predators, we apparently need to protect our animals too. Last week, in Star County, Texas, an illegal immigrant from Mexico by the name of Jose Nino was observed and arrested by Border Patrol, for having sex WITH A COW.
So, do we, ladies and gentlemen, need a border wall?… Of course we do. Is it an emergency?… Of course it is.
