A Few Simple Examples
In this short essay, I’ll describe a few simple examples of the biased media reporting that is spewn at our President nearly constantly.
This morning, several news sources quoted fire officials in California who criticized Mr. Trump for his earlier remarks on the wildfires ravaging that state. These officials criticized Mr. Trump for “disparaging brave first responders”. However, when one listens to the actual recording of Mr. Trump’s comments, one learns that that’s NOT what he said! He did NOT disparage fire fighters and first responders. Instead, he criticized Park MANAGERS that allowed inordinate amounts of dry timber to accumulate in California’s forests, thereby increasing the RISK of forrest fires, which have been endemic in the dry summers of California for thousands of years.
Next, several news sources criticized President Trump for cancelling one of the sites he had planned to visit while commemorating the Hundredth Armistice Day in France. Had these sources done due diligence investigative journalism BEFORE opening their mouths, they would have learned that the real reason the stop was cancelled was that a plot had been discovered by French police in which Mr. Trump would have been ASSASSINATED there!
Lastly, several news sources crowed loudly about French President Emmanuel Macron’s disparaging remarks regarding nationalism, implying that the nationalism that Mr. Trump often advocates, causes wars. Please see my last essay (He Got It Wrong, 11/11/18) to see how Macron, as well as the press, got the definition of nationalism wrong, and, as a consequence, got their criticism of Mr. Trump wrong as well.
Each of these “news stories” were, indeed, fake news. To my knowledge, NONE of them has yet to be retracted or modified. And, ladies and gentlemen, this is just for ONE DAY!
Dr. Mastroianni thank you for the truth.
