What They Don’t Say
>Some degree of political bias is probably inevitable in political reporting. When a reporter and his or her editor present material (in print or on video) of a political nature, it’s hard to see how some degree of preference or value judgement can be totally expunged. However, the blatant bias we see in main stream media coverage of this election attains heights never before seen in reputable journalism. In the past, reporters at least made some attempt at balanced reporting. Now, they don’t even try! There was an article in the New York Times that shamelessly ADMITTED bias, saying it was JUSTIFIED because “Trump was so dangerous.”!!! It has become SO blatant that all but the most partisan democrats have become aware! I’ve heard jokes that say, “what CNN really stands for is “Clinton News Network”. Too bad it’s not funny. MSNBC has become a propaganda rag for the Democratic Party. And the MAJOR networks ABC, CBS and NBC are not much better. And let’s not even TALK about the New York Times (All The News THAT FITS We Print) and the Washington Post. You’d would have had a better chance of finding unbiased reporting in Pravda.
>Now, the analysis given above is not exactly news, and many commentators and editorialists have presented similar observations. Often the inherent bias is illustrated with the media’s coverage of big stories and issues, so I won’t dwell on those here. Rather, I’d like to focus on a few smaller stories that the media either ignores or suppresses. And, I think it is fair to say, that, although the stories are “small” they speak volumes about the character of the candidates.
>I’d like to look, as examples, at two underreported stories for each of the candidates.
>Starting with Hillary, the main stream media underreports on anything that shows her in a negative, or even unflattering light. One of the most underreported stories is Hillary’s “War Room”. Apparently, the “War Room” was a term used by Hillary to refer to meetings (often, reportedly, with George Stephanopoulos and James Carville, by the way) held to “manage” rape and sexual abuse allegations made against Bill Clinton during his first campaign. The allegations came from, but were not limited to, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers and Dolly Kyle Browning. The issue here is not, of course, the assaults themselves, but rather Hillary’s campaign to intimidate and malign the victims. According to Attorney Bill Klayman, private investigators were hired, and “leaks” and insinuations were dispensed. Her strategy was to paint ALL of the accusers as “nuts and sluts”! As Kathleen Wiley, former Miss Universe winner (NOT a nut or a slut), put it: “She’s been calling me a bimbo for 19 years!” ALL of the women listed above say that they’ve been intimidated, slandered and humiliated by her….She’s SOME feminist, that Hillary. Much coverage in main stream media?…NOT.
>The next Hillary story is another example of her callous disregard for the victims of crime, in this case the rape of a child. In 1975 Hillary was appointed to defend Thomas Alfred Taylor a 42 year old man that raped a 12 year old girl. Now, as a young attorney, it was her job to represent the accused, so this article does NOT take issue with that aspect of the case. Rather, it was her deliberate strategy of obfuscating evidence to obtain an unjust result in flagrant disregard for the young girl victim. In an interview with journalist Roy Reed conducted in the 1980’s, Hillary clearly indicates that she KNEW the accused was guilty (she actually JOKES about it). She then describes how she cleverly used a so called “expert” hematologist to cast doubt on the evidence and get the case plea bargained. Snopes.com denies the veracity of the scenario described above, but a tape recording of Reed’s actual interview (stored in the University of Arkansas Library), which I have listened to, clearly demonstrates that snopes.com is wrong and the narrative, as stated above, is true. At the end of the tape, Reed asks Hillary how the case “turned out”. She chuckles and flippantly replies, “Got him off! For time served!”….Once again, that Hillary is SOME advocate for victim’s rights! By the way, if you would like to listen to the actual interview, the link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2f13f2awk4&sns=em
The recording is clear enough that you’ll be able to verify my report easily. Has this been covered on CBS, ABC, NBC? Apparently not.
>Next, turning to Donald Trump, the main stream media blatantly underreports on him as well. However, the intended effect here is, as you might suspect, the opposite. ANYTHING that portrays Trump in a positive or flattering light is, mysteriously, not covered and not even mentioned. Now, as you are undoubtably aware, Mr. Trump is FREQUENTLY called a racist for his denunciation of Black Lives Matter (BLM) terrorism. Unsurprisingly, examples of Mr. Trump’s NON RACIST attitudes and practices are rarely, if ever, mentioned. A good example of this dates all the way back to the 1990’s (long before running for president was even a “twinkle in his eye”) when he opened the Mar-a-Lago Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump INSISTED that the club accept Jewish and black members. Other Palm Beach Clubs then, and TO THIS DAY, bar such membership!…That TRUMP is SOME racist, isn’t he? Heard about this on TV? Probably not.
>And the last Trump story I’ll leave you with is one that actually was covered recently on Hannity recently, but I’ve not heard it mentioned elsewhere. Accordingly, I would say that it too is underreported. The story is told by Marine Corporal Ryan Stickney. At the end of Operation Dessert Storm Corporal Stickney and 200 fellow Marines were stranded at Camp Lejune when scheduled military aircraft, for whatever reason, became unavailable. Any hope of returning home for Easter was dim. Corporal Stickney and his fellow Marines were picking up their gear to leave, when a Trump jet plane, literally out of the blue, landed and took the grateful soldiers to their home in Florida. (By the way, snopes.com takes issue with this story also, but Corporal Stickney, fortunately, took a picture of the jet, which was shown on Hannity and which I’ll post as well). It turns out that, Mr. Trump, upon learning of the stranded Marines, sent one of his own planes to the rescue. Stickney says he will ALWAYS be grateful. Coverage on MSNBC? I think not
