What Legacy?
Recently Mr. Barack Obama has stated that not voting for Hillary is an “insult to my legacy”! My first reaction? There’s ANOTHER great reason to vote for Trump!
Upon further reflection, however, the question that kept coming to mind was: “What the heck is he talking about? What legacy?”
As they say: “Kennedy put a man on the moon! Obama put a man in the ladies room!”
Aside for the dubious accomplishment of advancing rights for weirdos (I know that epithet sounds insensitive, but I just can’t believe that any NORMAL man wants to relieve himself among a room full of women), what else has the man done?
He inherited an economic crisis, which he PERPETUATED with considerable skill. Unemployment remains extremely high (don’t believe those numbers put out by the federal government. Their inclusion criteria makes those figures essentially useless). Economic growth is anemic. Our youth are extremely underemployed, with MANY college grads still living with mommy and daddy.
He inherited a national debt of around 14 trillion and ballooned it to 19 trillion. And worse than that, he has nothing to show for it. No beefed up military. No refurbished infrastructure. No revitalized cities. NOTHING, really! Where-oh-where did the 5 TRILLION dollars go? No one knows! Some legacy.
He inherited a Middle East that was, if not exactly peaceful, was at least subdued. By pulling prematurely out of Iraq (against ALL thoughtful advice) he allowed the creation of ISIS and the massive murder and mayhem that followed. He supported all the wrong sides during the “Arab Spring.” The Mid East is now is in flames. There are now failed states in Libya, Somalia, Sudan and others . Only the military has prevented Egypt from joining that category.
He inherited an international milieu that, although not utopian, was cautious and generally well behaved. He has presented such a weak profile of our once great country, that all our competitors on the international scene have been emboldened. Russia invaded Crimea with out a care or concern. Iran absconded with 150 Billion (reported by PolitiFact) and in essence surrendered nothing, and is already testing long range missiles and buzzing our ships and taking Americans hostage. China has been behaving badly in the South China Sea. And let’s not even TALK about Korea

He inherited a globe that, at least, paid lip service on human rights. He’s overseen an unbelievable roll back of those rights. In Iran, Turkey, and through out the Middle East there have been THOUSANDS murdered for political reasons. Not to mention Africa and even China.
He inherited a country with a more or less a
general consensus on race equality (we did, after all, proudly elect the first black president in our history). He now presides over a country with our cities flames, and riots erupting like brush fires in a drought. I don’t recal racial tensions being this high since the 60’s!
He inherited a country where there had been steady growth of income among middle class and even among middle class blacks. He now presides over an economy more lopsided than ever, with a nearly 10% unemployment rate for blacks (more that double the rate among whites) with the discrepancy WORSE today than in 2008!
He inherited a country that had NO domestic terror attacks for the seven years following 9/11. Under Mr. Obama’s watch, there have been TWELVE! Little Rock, AK 2009. Fort Hood, TX 2009. Boston, MA, 2013. Moore, OK, 2014. Queens, NY, 2014. Brooklyn, NY 2014. Garland, TX 2015. Chattanooga, TN 2014. San Bernadino, CA 2015. Orlando, FL 2016. Manhattan, NY 2016. Seaside, NJ 2016. TWELVE! Hard to believe, but it’s true.
In short, there IS NO record of accomplishment. Or, at least, none that he should be proud to speak of. Some legacy, indeed!
