Stand In The Corner
The recent Chinese snub of Obama’s arrival at Hangzhou Airport caps off an 8 year history of international disrespect toward our beloved leader that rivals anything that I can remember in international diplomacy. I mean, Idi Amin was treated better! As most of you know Mr. Obama’s arrival at Hangzhou was not only missing the fanfare that such an occasion usually requires, it was also missing a set of stairs! Mr. Obama practically had to hail a cab!
And that was NOTHING compared to his “welcome” in the Philippines, where the President Rodrigo Duterte referred to our President as a “son of a b***h”!
>These examples are, unfortunately, nothing new. Although Mr. Obama started out with accolades from a number of sources, these were BEFORE he took office! Remember that he received the Nobel Peace Prize BEFORE his inauguration? Since he is leaving office with the world much more unstable and bellicose than he found it, I think the Nobel Committee should ask for it back! No, I think they should demand it back!
Anyway, in spite of these high hopes, after Mr. Obama actually took office, his profile among world leaders would only go downhill! And quickly, too! A few examples follow:
Immediately upon inaguration Mr. Obama went on a world wide apology tour. He was so obsequious that even Head of State hosts were embarrassed! Though the proletariat was favorably impressed, the world leaders, apparently, were not.
Mr. Obama next attended a World Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. He presented what he felt were bold proposals for reducing carbon emissions. NONE of his proposals were adopted.
Next, during the world recession that followed the stock market collapse in 2008, Mr. Obama went to the next G8 Summit with economic policy perscriptions that would have G8 governments pour tremendous amounts of cash into their economies to “spur growth”. NONE of his recommendations were adopted.
Next, he approached our allies to secure increased troop commitments from around the world to support our forces in the Middle East. NO TROOPS were forth coming.
After that, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, traveled to Washington to address a joint session of Congress, snubbing Mr. Obama completely!
A couple of years ago several Western countries conferenced to formulate a response to Russian intervention in Crimea. Our President was not invited.
Last year several Western countries conferenced to formulate a strategy to fight terrorism. Mr. Obama was not invited.
Just this year, the government of Iran HUMILIATED Mr. Obama by testing rockets that were specifically prohibited in his beloved JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Treaty) that had been signed merely a month previously! They then further humiliated him by taking American servicemen hostage, with absolutely no fear of the consequences. And they continue to further humiliate him by repeatedly threatening our Naval vessels by air and sea. Affront’s of this nature against the United States used to be unheard of! Not anymore!
In a similar way, over the past several years Kim Jung Un of North Korea has consistently mocked our president by firing missiles toward Japan and rockets toward our boats and the boats of our ally South Korean in international waters.
And, of course, it is now apparent that Vladimir Putin will no longer waste much time even TALKING to him!
I could go on, but it’s too painful. Apparently, world leaders have pegged Mr. Obama as a spineless poser and a fool. Accordingly, WE should hang our heads in shame, because WE elected him! And we elected him despite a complete lack of resumè (“community organizer” is NOT a job!), a complete lack of track record, and a complete lack even of academic records! In other words, without ANYTHING that might have made us believe that he’d actually be GOOD at being president. Shame on us! And as for HIM? HE should wear a pointy hat and stand in the corner, at least until recess.
