As this presidential campaign goes into full swing the issue of Hillary’s health has become more and more troubling. Information concerning this very important issue is hard to come by, as most of it is being assiduously gaurded by the Clinton campaign. Edward Klein raises the issue in his book, Blood Feud, which was subsequently reviewed in the New York Post under the title: Hillary’s Health Issues Are Much Worse Than She Lets On. And that was back in June of 2014. In 2015, Edward Klein again brings up Hillary’s increasing health issues in his new book: “Unlikable: The Problem With Hillary.” Now Mr. Klein is not, obviously, a neurological specialist, but the issues he raises are common sense and important. Even Mrs. Clinton herself has admitted to having had a transverse sinus thrombosis (a clot formed within one of the brain’s largest veins). She then follows this admission with the exclamation: “Thank goodness I didn’t have a stroke.” Well, ladies and gentleman, as a neuroscience clinician for three decades, I can speak to this issue. In my opinion, Mrs. Clinton DID in fact have a stroke. Not a fainting spell. Not a transient ischemic attack (TIA). And not JUST a transverse sinus thrombosis. A stroke.
The reason I say this, is that after her transverse sinus thrombosis, she manifested signs consistent with residual neurological deficits. How do I know this without having access to her medical records. The answer is simple: by LOOKING at her. She manifested two categories of deficit that were plainly discernible just by looking: 1) She had definite evidence of occulomotor dysfunction. Remember those very thick horned rim eyeglasses she wore around the time of the Benghazi hearings? She wasn’t wearing them to make a fashion statement. She was wearing them to correct, or at least compensate, for dysfunction in the alignment and focusing motions of the eye. This disfunction produces diplopia, or “double vision.” This is finding is clear evidence of persistent neurological dysfunction. In the context of transverse sinus thrombosis, the inescapable conclusion is that she did sustain a stroke, most likely a brain stem type of stroke. 2) The second manifestation is her dramatically increased coughing. Obviously, coughing may have many possible causes, but dysfunction in the gag reflex is an important one, and one that also is frequently seen in brain stem stroke. So, in this context, it is my opinion that this is further evidence that she did indeed suffer a stroke. Can I be completely sure of this diagnosis? Of course not, as I am not involved in her care and have not, obviously, been privy to her medical records. HOWEVER, I AM SURE that, under these circumstances, it is incumbent on her to release her medical records. All of them. America deserves to know the truth in this very important matter. How could it be argued otherwise? And notice, by the way, that I didn’t mention her frequent falls, her recent episode of a clear cut petit mal seizure caught on camera, and her uncontrollable Turret’s Syndrome like laughter! I’ll save those conditions for a later date!
